Brian Shaw

Brian Shaw was formerly the Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of CIBC World Markets.  Prior to this appointment he was the head of CIBC's Global Equities Division.  Brian is an experienced Canadian financial industry executive with deep specialization in capital markets and investing activities.  He is a private investor and corporate adviser.

Brian serves on multiple boards of directors including Encana Corporation, NuVista Energy Ltd., Manulife Bank of Canada and Manulife Trust Company.  In addition to Brookside Capital, he serves on the advisory boards of Firepower Capital, Prime Quadrant, and Sionna Investment Managers.   

Brian is an active supporter of several institutions.  He is a Director of the Toronto Symphony Orchestra, the Chairman of the TMX IP Governance Committee, and a member of the CFA Society of Toronto, Governance and Nominating Committee.
